Bryson DeChambeau on Grip Size

Bryson DeChambeau details why he opts for a larger grip with his clubs and how it benefits his game.

Started with the jumbo golf pride MCC Plus4 on just the driver. I’m a former baseball player who was sick of spraying my driver. Worked immediately and feels so much more controllable. Added them to 3w and hybrid and now they’re going on 4-PW. Could not recommend this more if you feel like you get a lil wristy at impact, or just want to feel more control.

I have the medium size on my clubs because I am a Bryson fanboy loads people asked why I said try it and they are getting them done as a older man it cuts down the vibration and when hit turf first doesn’t hurt too much where normal grip I can only play for few holes before hands seize up these no probs

nowadays he is playing the tour grip which is quite heavy. I'd love him see talking about swingweight in connection with the heavy tour grips.

I've never heard of DeChambeau when I started using oversized grips on a few of my longer clubs. I've got a huge hand and just like Bryson was saying, the regular grips just didn't feel right so I had the largest putter grips put on my driver, 3W and my 2 iron. I haven't gone back

I'm 7.75" wrist crease to middle (longest) finger, wear M/L gloves (like tightish).. I've played L on Wedges and M on irons and non-jumbo Midsize (lamkin sonar+) on woods/driver I wish the STR8 tech (non-tapered) ones were available in S and L

I totally agree with Bryson’s remark. Take tennis for example, there are several handle sizes available for each player to get the best suited one. It makes a major difference.
I just can’t get why golf is so late on getting interested in this subject. It is as essential a part of club fitting as shaft length or lie angle, if not much more.

Bryson is a big guy. He needs larger grips. This is not rocket science.
