I wish universities offer more freedom on which courses to take. As an engineering graduate, I believe there were many things I could've learn from humanity and art classes

I wish us as students will be able to have more options and decisions in which we are able to manage our studies better .

TSLAS is situated within the campus of its mother Institution, Thapar Institute of Engineering & Technology, which has a vast infrastructure sprawling over 250 acres. TIET is one of the oldest and finest educational institutions in India offering a highly attractive structure of fees & scholarships to students. The students are also provided with all necessary facilities to develop a spirit of techno-innovation by faculty of repute.

IMHO: Education is either 1. Practical, 2. Entertaining, 3. A waste of time and resources. I champion a practical education with an ROI and at 70 I see myself as a life-long student. That said, much of my time spent in a 1930's style classroom or campus was a waste of time and money. I could teach more about navigating life's challenges and living well in an afternoon than most college seniors learned in their past 4 years and there is no "degree" on my wall. Beware, kids, college is big business, and about 70% earn a living outside their field of study. If you don't understand the terms of that student loan you really are not ready for "higher" education.

It probably wouldn't be possible for me to get a liberal arts degree but I want to study it

Not a single concrete example provided or reference to a specific study or use of data in this entire talk, with all due respect to this professor, I must say that my own Honors students would barely be given a passing grade if they presented the way in my class.

I'm damned tired of having to do classes I hate and have no interest in which is what interdisciplinary programs make me do. Stop wasting the time and money of people and provide them with a useful set of skills. I didn't need school to learn how to debate.

If the liberal arts includes mathematics and physical sciences what doesn't it include?

I have no idea what she talked about. So vague. Didn't learn anything.

If you can't find a job with your degree, its a hobby. I love many topics in the liberal arts but would never waste my money on a formal degree in the liberal arts. I went into Materials Engineering for formal education but in my spare time I read classic literature, philosophy and history.

I still wouldn't hire anyone who just had a liberal arts degree for anything other than a basic labor job. Any prospective employee that uses the word 'social justice' would immediately be rejected as an applicant, they are generally trouble makers in the workforce.

"...Liberal means freedom..."
Freedom to flip burgers for 9$ an hour.
