This is why I miss John Madden. He would have done an instant replay and drawn the path of the football in red on the screen hitting the ref's, as he once did with a Gatorade pour that went down the back of the coach's jacket -- Madden said, "You see the collar is up here, and the Gatorade is coming down in this direction..."

True professionalism on the Ref's part. Didn't skip a beat with the penalty announcement and even smiled about it knowing it was an accident. If you weren't watching the video (tv when it aired) you would never know it even happened.
