Reminds me of when I took my girlfriend (now wife) for a ride in my dads 1909 T touring. That was over 50 years ago. We have lost track of the Ford but I still have my wife.

That car has made and is part automotive history! Amazing to think how far tech has come from humble beginnings to now...crazy!

This is easily the smoothest and fastest crankstart I've ever seen

That runs like a sewing machine! It’s amazing how the engine compartment is smaller than the whole front end.

I once started a 1908 Ford. It actually was very easy to start. I turned the crank and released the switch.
It was “all original” with no modifications. The owner wanted to “preserve” the experience of driving the 1908 Ford as well.
Those horror stories of the crank kicking back and breaking arms, only happened if the car wasn’t properly maintained or kept in good repair.
The 1908 Ford had no battery. Its voltage was maintained by a gyro. The downside was that the voltage wasn’t regulated so if you drove too slow, the lights would dim and if you drive too fast, the light bulbs would pop out.

Just so!
Never done it, but my Dad did back in the ‘40s. He said you pull upward on a compression stroke, never push downward. If you pull and the engine backfires the handle will pull out of your hand. If it backfires while you are pushing downward the handle could break your thumb, wrist or jaw. In the old days people have died from complications from injuries this way

I wish they still made nice and simple cars like that today

I heard a lot of people saying don't crank start it with the right hand because the engine might kick back and can hurt you pretty bad but idk, this man seems to know what he's doing

Even people who know nothing about these feel how dramatic they are, until he set idle a little lower :)

All he’s missing is the coat and stylish cane to really seal the deal
