In the 50s there was a batmobile in the comicbooks that basicly looked like a model T. That must have been pretty arkward having to wind up the engine everytime a superhero car chase started. lol

I enjoyed watching that way more than I thought I would. History is so fascinating

Overall, cool video, but this dude is cranking with his right hand - a HUGE safety error on these vehicles. An engine backfire can jerk the crank and break a wrist or arm bone. Using the left hand and using the correct hand position essentially eliminates this danger. This guy is either ignorant of this safety risk or is ignoring it. Otherwise, very cool and presentable Model T.

Just imagine if cars were still like that to where you'd have to crank start it. You'd have to get out to start it if you stalled. Everyone behind you at the green light would be pissed.

Never use your right hand to crank. If there’s kickback you can break your wrist.
Always use your left hand

I seen one similar to this car drive by me the other Day and i was so happy to see that people will never let classic cars go out of style

Being only 26 years old. That was actually really cool. To see.

I thought you would have to do a full rotation to start it up.

So helpful. My automatic start and keep going button burned out a long time ago. Now i need some kind of oomph routine. The manual heavy crank start. A choke pulled just the right amount. Gas pedal perfect. Dont rev straight away. Let the engine idle and warm up first. Old Model T

My grandpa said during the depression his dad would start up the family car this way but it rarely drove because dad was afraid of breaking his arm on the hand crank.

Ahh, the Model T... a mechanised steed forged in the crucible of mankind’s ever-burgeoning hubris. But alas, my expectations, like the cranks of yore, were left unfulfilled. I came here seeking the metaphysical struggle—a battle between man and machine, where the cranking transcends mere mechanical action, spiralling into an existential 360-degree vortex of human effort. But instead, I witnessed but a mere tap, a whisper of a crank. Where is the arduous journey? Where is the sweat of the soul? I sought the cosmic dance, and instead, found a whisper in the void. If all it takes is one simple stroke, the crank might as well be a key, unlocking nothing more than my disappointment.

This would be so cool and hipster on a modern car, and no starter/battery to worry about.

That's pretty cool, never saw someone do that in person.

This is another great example of "they don't make them like they used to"

Ah, the good old days with no power steering, no seat belts, airbags, and leaded gasoline.
