the double (edit: TRIPLE!) meaning of "so he never lifts a finger" still gives me chills.

(meaning 1: so he never has to do the domestic unpaid labour,
meaning 2: so he doesn't lift a hand to strike her,
MEANING 3: so he doesn't point a finger to accuse her.)

I’ve been repeating this song over and over since the election. Thank you so much. For all my women, POC and queers, Dont give up. Live for the people you love and out of pure spite

As a daughter of a narcissistic republican father and a survivor of SA this song is healing. ❤️‍🩹

My parents didn’t get an eldest son to carry their family name. But they have one pissed off eldest daughter who will fight for a generation of silenced daughters ❤

I feel like all of you are singing it with me. I’m leaving him and borrowing your strength to do so 🥺🫶🏽

Hold on. What will seem like an eternity for the next 4 years, won’t last forever. Keep hope, and by god, don’t give up your spite.

Can we recognize how talented she is for putting the word “ capillaries “ in a song and it still sounds good ?

To my fellow women. I see you. I love you. You are strong on your own. We are strong united. Do not let them take your voice from you. You are not too emotional, you are not too soft, you are not weak. Everything you have been taught to resent is what makes you so incredible. Do not give up. To my American sisters, I am grieving for you. I hope the world wakes up soon, we have been wronged for too long.

Sending love, strength and solidarity to women, POC and LGBTQI people in the US who are fearful and weary from what’s happen and what’s yet to happen. We see you, we hear you.

Favorite version. This song is needed so much right now, for every woman scared in every country where men rule.

I remember first listening to this song. I was on my period, which made it hit more harder emotionally. I cried, but also kind of cried in happiness that this song exists- that we women have been able to rise from the past and stand up for ourselves now. There's still some work to be done, but we've come so far. This song is stuck in my head 24/7, and I love it. This song is so meaningful, I can't describe how it makes me feel, lmao
