In this first ever episode of the Armenian Highlands Initiative, the audience will learn about the ancient origins of the Armenian people which began with the establishment of the Hayasa-Azzi, Arme-Shupria, and Hittite civilizations. The Armenians are known to be genetic fossils by international historians, academics, geneticists, and linguists due to the fact that they are Neolithic Europeans who are indigenous to the Armenian Highlands and have had a isolated (no admixture) genetic identity for the past 3,000+ years, prior to their Neolithic ancestry which began with tribal societies 8,000+ years ago in the Armenian Highlands. Modern day Armenians are the embodiment and direct descendants of the ancients (Kura-Araxes Culture) who built the worlds oldest temple, Portasar (Göbekli Tepe), 12,000 years ago in the Armenian Highlands. Although many claim that the Hittites, Hurrians, Hayasa-Azzi, Arme-Shupria, Nairi, Phrygians, and Urartians went extinct...this is not the case, the Armenians are a unique blend of the aforementioned ancient civilizations and are their direct genetic/linguistic descendants.

If my explanation does not satisfy you, than I'm sorry that I failed to explain my point of view. During the invasions of the sea peoples, there were land invasions too. The conquerors of the Hittites did not reach Cappadokia or Hatti or Armenia by boat. They were invading by land. Their kings were known as Armens. They were too few to take absorb the Hayassa, so after 600 or so years, they melded into the greater Hayassa population. A perfect example is the Behistoon inscription. It was done in three languages. When referring to us they had different names. The really old languages referred to us as Urartians, while the Persians, who were the newcomers to the area, the referred to as as Armens. Genetic studies confirm that around 1250 BC, There was a genetic influx into the Gene pool
. That corresponds with what I have been saying.

You could have mentioned the matrilineal side as well, which was published last year and shows the position of Armenians compared to others. It puts Armenians in the position like the genome-wide paper you showed with Fst.

The Armens became Hay, but the name stuck. Stuck with the foreigners. We still call ourselves Hay.

just last night I broke it down for all of you to see, who are all the pieces which comprise the Armenian highlands:

Hittites/Hatti = Canaanites

Hul = Hurrians = Mitanni --> Ararat+ Minni =
neo-Hittite empire (+Georgians)

Tubal = Georgians = neo-Hittite empire (+Arameans: Hul) --->Armenia

Togarmah = Phrygians = Hayasa-Azzi (+Hittites) = Armenians

Meshech = Kashka = Mushki = Cappadocians = Slavs

Riphat = Pala = Paphlagonians = Galatians = Celts/Gauls ---> Cimmerians (Gomer)

But you didn't talk about the kingdom of Minni, which was established nearby by the Aramean Hulites, and they were the ones who took over Urartu and created Armenia. The people of Armenia though were mostly Phrygians (house of Togarmah)

most likely Armenia was the name of the region. In Armenian language there’s no such word as ‘Armenia’
