Rating the capital cities I’ve visited in Europe so far

These are OPINIONS based on my experiences traveling in each city

This perspective is not one of living and working in these places

So here we go:

Paris 🇫🇷 - 7/10
I experienced such a range of emotions visiting Paris. Sometimes it was 1000/10 because of how amazing the city is, but other times it was overwhelming and/or dirty.

Brussels 🇧🇪 - 5/10
To me Brussels was honestly average. I didn’t dislike it but nothing stood out as amazing either.

Vienna 🇦🇹 - 8.5/10
Really peaceful and such a high quality of life! But I thought it was expensive for accommodation and eating/drinking out.

Prague 🇨🇿 - 9.5/10
It’s beautiful, affordable, has great transportation, and so much to do. It does get super crowded in December and summer though.

Bratislava 🇸🇰 - 8/10
I really enjoyed it and think it’s underrated/overshadowed by Vienna, Prague, and Budapest. It’s a chill city but it’s not very big so I wouldn’t spend as much time here as others.

Zagreb 🇭🇷 - 7.5/10
Overall the city is fun and nice for a few days and I love the Croatian people! So my opinion of Zagreb shouldn’t reflect my views on all of Croatia. It’s just that my favorite part of Croatia is the seaside towns and Zagreb isn’t on the sea.

Nicosia 🇨🇾 - 6/10
This is a really fascinating city because it’s divided into two sides (Greek and Turkish). Cool in its own right but I don’t feel it can compare to other capitals in Europe.

Ljubljana🇸🇮 - 9/10
Great and vibrant city. But it’s small so after a few days I felt more like going into nature in Slovenia which my favorite thing about the country 😁

Budapest 🇭🇺 - 9.5/10
Honestly loved Budapest! Such a great place to visit and experience. Just not a 10/10 for me because the food scene wasn’t as good as other countries in my opinion.

Ljubljana is my personal favorite. Very nice people and not very busy. Relaxed city

Rating Brussels 5 is not knowing Brussels, just for the beauty of Grand Place at night it’s worth much more than 5, all the beautiful chocolate shops, the fries, beers, waffles, beautiful buildings and house’s architecture etc… And the city is full of different events throughout the year.

Everytime i see european cities it just feels like home i cant wait to move back to europe

As a Belgian I agree with the rating for Brussels. The streets are dirty, full of trash, puddles and loose tiles. They have serious public safety and crowd-control issues, and it's expensive. Can't really recommend it if you're just a backpacker visiting for the atmosphere.
The museums are really great though!

Interesting score for Vienna. I was just there and would give it a 10/10. Beautiful buildings, great public transportation, lots of green space, fabulous cultural offerings, excellent food. And the people were a lot friendly than I had experienced them years ago.

Zagreb above Paris?? You're trippin bro. Even though I love Croatia, and Zagreb people were amazing when I went there last year, I must admit that the city was nothing special, even more when you compare it with other cities in the country.
