Your definitely correct about fish emulsion attracting varmints! I've used fish emulsion for decades and have had excellent results with my plants. I learned the hard way about raccoons digging in search of that tasty fish, a lot of work ruined. Start plants inside with emulsion and as they grow ( quite well) taper off before putting them in the ground outside.

I’m in Florida 9b my second year gardening. Been using Alaska Fish Emulsion for 2 years — on mature plants. Nice to know it can be used (diluted) on seedlings.

Not the same brand, butI just used fish emulsion fertilizer for the first time last week. My plants had just gone into the ground the day before and were about 8” tall. The next day, every one of them looked like someone had blow-torched them. Obviously MY bad, but I did use the recommended amount, which was far stronger than the dilution you used. Thank you for the knowledge…one of those learning moments when ya’ go “Ohhh…I got it!” Bought their replacements yesterday and will get them to their new home as soon as the predicted thunderstorms pass. This is my first year growing seedlings and I bought some of the Alaska brand but haven’t fertilized yet so this was very helpful thank you! I’m currently treating my seedlings with mosquitoe bits water 1x a week.. is it still ok to fertilize? Should I space out the treatment and fertilizer a few days apart?

Just curious once you added concentrated fish emulsion in the bottle of water. How long is dilluted fish emulsion good in a sealed bottle?

Because you don't want to over water so I'm going to have some dilluted fish emulsion left over as you demonstrated.
