Now I have come.” And Joshua fell on his face to the earth and worshiped and said to him, “What does my Lord say to his servant?” And the commander of the Lord’s army said to Joshua, “Take off your sandals from your feet, for the place where you are standing is holy.” And Joshua did so.”

I think this is a great image of God’s purpose being to uphold his glory. The army of the Lord take no sides but according to command of God.

Thank you so much for this great overview and description of the book of Joshua! I am currently reading through the Bible and am midway through the book for Joshua. I love that this book is full of hope that God will fulfill His promise to His people. I also did not know that Rahab was in Jesus’ genealogy!
