I was 60 yo & had no history of cardiac, respiratory or circulatory issues; had more of a problem with getting bleeding to stop. I landed in the hospital with 6 pulmonary embolisms + 1 DVT after taking a JAK inhibitor. I immediately stopped taking that med & began the recovery to no clots & no heart strain. No more JAK inhibitors for me!

I took Humira and got an infection. I stopped the biologic. It’s been two and a half years of infection. The antibiotics aren’t clearing it up. I’ve been in and out of the hospital. Now with all this, all my exsisting conditions and Covid I’m in a bad situation. No one knows exactly what is causing this infection or how to treat it. I have flare ups of fever, vomiting and diarrhea. I got a second infection and again they don’t know what it is. It has growths that are growing at an alarming rate. Before RA I had an extremely strong immune system.

It sounds like we’re all just a bunch of guinea pigs and they don’t wanna give out good medication’s like Xanax that help relax you and like it in which helps take your pain away and gives you a little boost. It always works for me.

My mother was on a Biologic for 9 years 'tocilizumab' the past 4 years she had a massive foot infections which needed a skin graft, was it from the Biologic? She kept having infections and staphylococcus eating her skin away, I had enough and told the doctors to stop her infusion in April 2021, she passed away this year 1st of May.. May her soul Rest In Peace. I am not sure if it was because we stopped the infusion that she has passed, but this is playing on my mind all the time, I couldn't help to see her suffering and infection all the time, what was a son meant to do??

Very straight forward and useful information. I'm in the beginning stages of Ankylosing Spondylitis treatment with Enbrel. That the covid virus is now a pandemic is especially concerning to me, as my natural immunities are suppressed with biologics now. I'm extra careful in large crowds and continue safety protocols, and only wish everyone who has the vaccine available to them would use it. I don't hug family members who have refused the covid vaccination and I explain why. A few have reconsider their stance. Thanks again.
