I'm impressed at how quickly EV sales are really taking off. I wasn't honestly expecting this until 2025. And I think current sales are supply-constrained (they'd be even higher with more available supply)

If the supply can continue to ramp up and nothing catastrophic happens (like a rash of fires or pronounced adverse grid impact) we're going to see EV sales at 20% of the overall fleet in no time.

Dude, Hyundai is represented in that chart as the Kona is there. Agree with you that they will do very well with the Ionic 5 as that thing is a winner.

I purchased a VW Id4 in mid June. My local VW dealers only had a couple of models on their lots. Drove past to schedule a 60 check and they can't get any more and they have several customers waiting for their ordered vehicles to show up.

Tesla Model Y will be #1 EV seller this year. My best guesstimate..

ID4 is really just now showing up in the dealers.

Tesla is in an incredibly favourable position right now. The commanding leader at the jumpoff point into a world market of 100 million units / yr worth $2 trillion minimum, with all the best technology in hand, proven mfg capability, all reqd financing in place, wow!!

It would be great if Tesla hit one million sales this year but it doesn't matter if they don't, as 2022 they will hit 2 million without much trouble.

Why is the stock down???? It should be at least 900 now.

One area that people ignore is scope and scale. Can the new EV makers build out to mirror Tesla? Probably not since they would need dedicated EV factories/plants, actual R&D sections and a culture of technology, innovation, creativity and strategic vision. Additionally, the other issue no one talks about is labor and debt. What are the labor issues with non-Tesla developers and what is their debt?

Have you seen the amount of MODEL S are parked at the Fremont factory track area from the PLAID event as well as the Temporary lot a mile away? Model S delivery numbers will definitely grow in the 3rd qtr once they start delivering all this stashed product. makes you wonder why they are delaying deliveries and these cars sit there collecting dust for months.

The reason is tesla makes good evs, the rest dont

I think the VW brand is tainted from their past actions. I wouldn’t want anything to do with a VW, even if their evs were comparable to Tesla. I just don’t trust them

“This latest study confirms that Tesla’s busted growth story is in full speed. Samoa and Puerto Rico are the canaries in the coal mine and Tesla sales in those territories confirms that the Tesla business model is like a firecracker - all noise and pop one second, then all gone the next.” - Gordon Johnson
