I have a question, some therapists at my facility, will increase the set F to match that of the patients, in order to decrease wob. So for example.. PC 15/5, F 12. The patient is breathing in the 30s. The therapist will increase the set F to match the patient RR. Does this really decrease wob? I guess when I think of aiding in wob, I think sensitivity, flow, increasing PC... its hard to believe that the wob generated from an initiation of a breath, in a full support mode can be taken away by increasing the set F.

Hi Joe, should we worry about the blood pressure when we increase the P above the pressure in pressure control? I thought any positive pressure we give the patient will affect the patient's blood pressure?
