PRESENTING Episode 16 of Bouncing Around.
Recorded on the afternoon of April 12th.
If you want to Bounce Around the episode:

1:41 - Caitlin’s favorite and least favorite aspects of building an offensive hub around Domantas Sabonis

3:31 - Myles Turner deserves credit for getting better at finding spots and moving off ball

5:18 - Sabonis + Turner.

6:56 - The aforementioned TJ McConnell piece:

7:30 - Domantas Sabonis, the maestro in the middle

8:30 - Caris LeVert: a linguini-esque player who looks like he plays basketball on a pogo stick

10:20 - LeVert and Brogdon having the ball in their hands

14:55 - The development of the two-man game of Sabonis & Brogdon

The article about Sabonis as a screener:

17:10 - Caitlin’s ability to illustrate concepts is unmatched

18:01 - Bjorkgren put a stop to static spacing

19:13 - Horns Flex - but the guard always ghosts the flex

19:25 - UCLA Reject

20:08 - Iverson Rip Gut DHO

21:40 - I guess you could say the offense sometimes stagNATEs

23:54 - Does Bjorkgren operate at a higher plane than what the roster is capable of?

25:24 - The Pacers perfect world: half Nate McMillan, half Nate Bjorkgren.

25:33 - Is there a player that has benefited the most from Nate’s insertion as HC?

29:09 - I, Evin, apologize for stumbling through the setup of this question. Are there any players in the league Caitlin wants as a defensive special teams type of player on the Pacers?

29:40 - “a year ago, you would’ve watched him around the rim and it would’ve been like a meteor hurling towards Earth.”

31:15 - The Pacers are neck-in-neck with the Kings for most points in the paint given up.

32:43 - Caitlin lets loose because this is a safe space aka a discussion on Bjorkgren having bigs face guard at the elbow on out of bounds plays

34:00 - The WEIRDEST thing about the bigs of Indiana faceguarding at the elbow on out of bounds plays is…

36:29 - Caitlin asks me a question and that gives me license to recklessly speculate.

37:36 - Mike Budenholzer’s philosophy on creating a defensive intensity

39:16 - Zone talk!

41:55 - Caitlin is over the (needless) OVERS

44:04 - Nate McMillan was not experimental. Nate Bjorkgren is very experimental.

49:18 - Caitlin’s brain is a dictionary of basketball terms.
Also, she tells us how her basketball brain was developed.

53:13 - Nexting and why it would really help the Pacers

54:07 - Sarunas Jasikevicus dropped his team into a 2-3 zone MID possession

55:00 - Peel Switching

55:08 - The clip is from the Slapping Glass YouTube channel!

56:52 - Shoutout to Slappin Glass

57:10 - Jenny Boucek and the Mavs call it a “go switch”

59:18 - Caitlin, if you read this, you should name more stuff.

59:29 - BLOB: basket weaving

1:00:12 - The Garfunkel screen returns.

1:01:37 - Caitlin Cooper knows what a Garfunkel screen is and she can describe it better from memory than anyone on Bouncing Around

1:03:18 - IYKYK

1:05:08 - Cyclone. For what it’s worth, I say Kerr “brought it to the league” because I know he stole it from Hoiberg who stole it from…

1:05:20 - Samson Folk’s literal dream

1:06:02 - The Edmond Sumner experience explained

1:08:00 - If you weren’t quite sure where you knew Goga from, it is this.

1:08:25 - We reminisce about the great Jermaine O’Neal

1:12:55 -

1:14:22 -

Catalin needs to work for the ringer or something because she’s just too damn talented to only cover the pacers. I always learn so much from her. Also, thank you for showing clips of what she was talking about. That was extremely helpful.

As a Nets fan, seeing LeVert over the years and coming off the bench before the Harden trade made me realize that though he is a quality starter, he is just a perfect sixth man. I think if he embraced that role he could seriously be in contention for the Sixth Man of the Year award every season like a Lou Williams.
