What's the deal with the lack of attention to detail in Assassin's Creed Mirage 2023 compared to Assassin's Creed Origins 2017?

Well Mirage’s sand is basically the snow from Valhalla with another skin, just look at the footsteps

Mirage was supposed to be a dlc for Valhalla but they changed their mind last second

Mirage is a side project created by a small studio with Ubisofts approval. I believe it was a belgian studio. They had a much much smaller budget but they really loved the first AC and they wanted to make a simillar game

It's like comparing the most expensive phone model to a cheaper one.

I’m pretty sure I remember hearing how Origins got an extra year for development time compared to their other games at the time. I’m sure that helped. Origins took four years, compared to Odyssey that took three

Mirage was originally a dlc for Valhalla.
It was also developed by a smaller team with less time to do so.

because mirage was a side project while origins was a full-fledged game. they did the setting dirty by not making a full game out of it, cuz it was my fav historical setting

As others mentioned a smaller team with less budget and first hands on experience in delivering an AC game. However, they got a lot right from assassination missions to the city design. Watch the dev videos to see their apparent love for their game.

The NPC's in Origins are so lifelike, also compared to those in Odyssey and Valhalla.

Mirage was originally meant to be a dlc for Valhalla.

It is because even in Ubisoft there are different studios . Prior to its announcement at Ubisoft Forward on 10 September 2022, details about Mirage leaked–under the codename Rift–when it was revealed that the game started out as an expansion pack for Assassin's Creed Valhalla before being turned into a standalone release.

Ubisoft Montreal is on another level. AC3, Origins, Valhalla. It's the little details that count the most.

In origin, if you'll stand long enough in desert, like 3-5 mins, you'll see many different kinds of mirage, like ghost, or locust, or oyasis, or just a guy in white clothes walking in desert and vanishes within seconds

But you can't see any origin in mirage (pun intended)

One thing that set origins as my favourite game of all time is weirdly the sounds. Bayek sounds different depending on if his costume has footwear or not. It also depends on which surface hes on and it also affects enemy detection when sneaking behind them. THAT level of detail is why its my best game ever played.

One thing Ubisoft nails in almost every ac game is the historic setting

Same company, but different studios. Ubisoft’s problem is that they’re too big. Each studio is going to have their own way of making games, which is why there’s a lack of consistency.

Also important to note that Mirage was the first game Ubisoft Bordeaux ever made, and hardly got any funding compared to Montreal or Quebec bc it was considered “a side project”.
