The thicky thing is she's right. You do not use rich italian style coffee with water because it carries a strong bitter aftertaste (you use it with milk it matches way better)
And you tend to use coffee that is less on the bitter side and more on the sour side for drinking on its own.
It feels cheap/kinda uneducated to have such an expensive coffee and not giving it its best chance with a proper matching
