So, the question is, what do food allergy symptoms look like? Typically, the symptoms of food allergy -- let us just say someone is peanut allergic and by accident they have peanut. The typical symptoms are hives first. They usually get hives throughout the body.

With babies, sometimes they could have rashes around their mouth to certain foods and that is more of a contact dermatitis and not a diffused reaction. It is usually hives and/or stomach pains, nausea, and vomiting. Those are some of the main symptoms. They could also have wheezing as well if it gets really bad.

Some people who have different type of food allergy, we call it oral allergy, where they have cross-reactions to certain fruits and get itchy mouth. That is a different type of food allergy and it is not the anaphylactic kind.

So, it just depends on what mechanism we are treating. But typically, it is hives, nausea and vomiting for the more severe or one of those. They should have an antihistamine on board and make sure to have an epinephrine injector close to you. With that, we hope that helps.
