I love how this fight turned out to be more personal for Goku than just the fate of the Earth. It was about Goku letting go of his stubbornness to achieve a high level of power on his own and embrace the support he had, which was necessary to overcome Beerus’ temperament, if not his power. That trust in his friends ended up being the key factor in winning the Tournament of Power against Jiren, and I’d like to think that’s why Beerus spares Earth and it’s warriors; because he recognised Goku’s growth and potential as a fighter and thought that, even if it was a small chance they succeed, that that belief in his team is what would save them from being erased in the Tournament of Power.

Beerus is one of the coolest characters in this series. He is less of a villain in BOG and more of a force of nature and that’s awesome in a series like Dragon Ball
