Love how Goku passes out laughing at the thought of warriors even stronger than Beerus. Goku was basically confirmed to be the 3rd strongest being in the universe but hearing there are others must have been a mix of exciting and just absurd, especially coming off of such a taxing fight.

This is the only time Beerus was able to shine, it was clear that he was strong but in here it showed him being pushed to some extent. But now it doesn’t matter because they for some reason wanted it to where he’s impossible to surpass and now he’s been reduced to nothing but a joke.

This is why I prefer the Movie it's Dragon Ball at it's best while in Super Goku defying Beerus one last time by telling him not to decide what his limits are is inspirational to me this is so much better this is the first time Goku gives up knowing full well that no one can stop Beerus he's fully prepared to accept his fate even if it is enraging it really is a great way to develop Goku as a character. In addition to that Beerus remarking to that Goku is his second strongest foe is also a really great & beautiful way to tie back into the early days when Master Roshi wanted to give his students a shadow to chase to show them that no matter how strong they get there would always be someone stronger just waiting around the corner. It was at that moment I realized Beerus was going to spare them because in Goku he found a worthy rival that he wanted to keep around while also giving the Saiyan a shadow to chase after by claiming him as the second strongest. Which is a great way to help push Goku to even greater heights than before just like what Jackie Chun did all those years ago which is a surprisingly human motivation plus both Beerus & Roshi's motivations are also great ways to nicely tie back into the deep roots & philosophy of martial arts "The betterment of ones self & the pushing of not just your own boundaries but the limits of who came before you".
