Sold the FX3 got two FX30. The best camera is the FX30. Using super fast cine glass even at night there's no problem.

I bought the first a7S3 in 2020. I was so impressed, I Bought a second one in 2021. With these two a7S3 I was recording 4k60 10 bit for 8 hours straight and was so impressed I bought a 3rd a7S3 in 2022.

I only wish Sony gave us open gate on the FX3 and 6 tbh. Also, on another note, when you get the Laowa Ranger lenses, could you compare them to the DZO Catta and the fuji mk (on an equivalent configuration, for example the Laowa and catta at 28/4 and the MK at 18/2.9). They really are the main zoom options at this price point CVP is basically the only channel that does serious testing between products

I've just bought one and I must admit I am blown away with the quality. The sound quality with the top handle is outstanding even using a cheap XLR mic. My only real problem coming from using the GH5 is the lack of an EVF, the Sony screen can be very difficult to see in bright sunlight and judging focus & exposure is therefore guesswork. I do have a separate monitor which helps if I have remembered to pack it!

Always dig your videos. But this appraisal of the Fx3 is a bit odd. 1. updates: it took Sony ages to provide updates for the FX3, e.g. focus breathing compensation only came a few weeks ago. And we are still missing video fundamentals like waveform, shutter angle etc. Plus, the anamorphuc support is very basic 2. The IBIS is disappointing, when e.g comparing it to Panasonic. 3. the screen quality is poor, especially since you have to rely on it due to lack of EVF. Pair this with the lack of exposure tool and you have a hard time exposing when the camera is not rigged up. 4. no support for USB recording. And the list goes on.
Net net: I would not buy it again.

Truly brilliant camera.
Cine EI, DCI 4K, true 24FPS, lens breathing compensation, user LUTs, XLR inputs, active cooling system, great rolling shutter performance, outstanding low light, RAW output, the list goes on.
Incredible compact cine camera for any professional work.

It's been a hell of a journey as someone who bought this camera on its release date. The mania over the 'A7s3 in an expensive body' debate, seeing people judge our purchasing decision to then silently buying an FX3 of their own, now a feature length film shot on an FX3 and reneissance period... All the while just quietly enjoying, learning and having fun with this little powerhouse 🫠

It's an amazing camera except for the codecs. I hope they will go the Nikon route and introduce ProRes or internal RAW in future cameras.

IMO, the FX-30 has taken a huge bite out of the FX3's value:features ratio.

The only real things you're sacrificing is the stellar low light performance, sensor size and mechanical shutter if you're shooting high speed stills.

But you gain a better AF System, a higher res sensor (6k downsample, the difference is noticable), and access to good cheap super-35 glass without sensor cropping.
FOR HALF THE PRICE.

I think the most cost effective A+B pairing is currently an FX30+FX6.

I own and work with FX 3, A7S III, A7 IV. I'm doing a lot of work actually with the A7 IV, due to the oversampling and astonishing crop in possibilities. But the internal fan and XLR audio makes the FX 3 indispensable. - I just recorded a concert with all three. The A7 IV overheated. The other ones were fine.

The FX3 is amazing. I am very satisfied with mine. Dare I say the build quality is far nicer than the alpha bodies. So nice to work with and the XLR-handle is great. The FX30 is also a great -- a true workhorse robust video camera for an affordable price.

Love my FX3. The only way it could be even better was if it had internal NDs. But I'm not gonna complain because the fact that I'm able to own a peice of technology like this still continues to blow my mind. 😂

Do you guys use a particular company to make your small QR asset tags or just make them in house? Would be interesting to see a video on how you track all your inventory.
