Its not always about the megapixels... They have a new tech which gives superb lowlight pictures without any blur. Thats the killer feature here !

Despite the negative votes you've received, I think you are right in certain parts. The camera isn't a fail. But I think it needs more than the already mainstream 8 megapixel sensor. Should have been AT LEAST a 12 megapixel. After setting the bar high with 808 Pureview, this smaller sensor does let it down a bit. Zooming won't be as great as the 808, but it's probably the 2nd best cameraphone out there now. Plus, I am really enticed into buying it.

Exactly, the single most common situation when using a cell phone camera. Thumbs up nokia, I'm getting a Lumia 920!

Right Nokia, amazing phone, now listen! make this phone available quick and in all the colours. Don't leave us waiting again!!!, and make ALL COLOURS available at release. Do this and this wonderful phone will sell like hot cakes.

This comment shows how little you know about the phone. It's not about "number of megapixels" it's about what you DO with them! This is hands down the BEST camera you can currently get on a smartphone, that's already been reported on with hands-ons today etc, because of the PureView technology coupled with that sensor. Look up the phone a bit more, before slagging it off! You get disappointed so easily, if you look up and spot a single cloud in the sky is your whole day ruined?!

Yes digital zoom degrades the image, even the 808 does that, while compensating by using a larger picture. But what you fail to see is that the majority of cell phone users don't use zoom, either because it is not needed, or because they know it makes the image suck. This is not just about the megapixels, and how sharp the image gets, when zooming or not, this is about taking good non-blurry sharp pictures in low light situations. [continuesd]

That's what the android people said about single core, back when lumia 800 launched. WP7 and 7.5 runs really, really well on even a single core processor. I can't say i don't look forward to the real multitasking capabilities of the new lumia series thought :)

Yes but the lossless zoom that we saw on the 808 is gone. We dont even get a watered down version of that fantastic zooming. I didnt expect them to put a 41 megapixel camera on the 920 but I thought maybe they put a 21 megapixel camera or maybe a 16 megapixel camera. That would have allowed for maybe 3x zooming for 5 megapixel shots. Nokia can only blame themselves. You cant follow up a 41 megapixel camera with an 8 megapixel camera. They created a standard and then they abandoned it.

the funny thing is the nokia n900 is still way better then nokia newest phone out 2012. SG3 is better then all the other samsung phone out so far.

Omg yes, definitely was a huge let down. Did you see how they just grazed the battery. Starting to look into the Note2, but still satisfied with my SII

Those situations are by far the two most common situations / issues with cell phone cameras. And it seems that nokia has made a real crack at both those issues. How is that a fail!? Larger sized images would also allow for people to print them on posters, except nobody does that. And if people do, then they should go buy a smartphone with a 41 megapixel camera, or a good dslr.

The N900 was an AMAZING Device, open source/cool 'tools' to mess with, They should make an N950 or something, Better then N900 =p

how can the 920 dissappoint? IT's the best phone announced this year. The Galaxy Note 2 may have better specs but is WAY to o big for the average consumer. 920 is the way to go for me and many others.

You can if the 8mpix camera takes better pictures than the 41 mpix

No way! Are you sure? I guessed it would be somewhere between 700-800 $

Nokia 808 should have a windows OS ... That would destroy everything!

who cares about the fanboys, this phone is beautiful. its so different to the other phones that seem to be repetitively copying eachother and clinging to outdated industrial design. I want something that isn't just black or white, I want colour, I want something new, I want

How much do you think it'll cost?

Please you're just sputtering words you don't even know about. I believe Win 8 is beautiful and simplistic in every way though not battery friendly. Samsung's Ativ S looks to be a far better choice at least on paper than this restrictive piece of hardware.
