How to Transfer Dash Cam Footage to Your Computer

A Dash Cam is a small device that fits with inside the cabin of a car and records the road ahead, or even the road behind. These devices will record footage every time the car ignition is turned on, and save it to a microSD card. A microSD card will not fit in any normal computer such as a laptop or tablet. For that you'll need to purchase a Micro SD card adapter which can be picked up for less than a couple of pounds from places such as Amazon and eBay.

Once you have your microSD card adapter, simply insert the microSD card into it and insert that into the computer. You can then open up File Explorer and browse all your recorded footage and choose what you want transfer/download.

NO, most newer 4K videos do NOT play on Windows computers. Don't waste your time trying to download the codec from Microsoft. I have yet to find a player for TS files.

Mine used to work, my dashcam footage would load up in just a few minutes to one drive then i would find the files on pictures in file explorer, now for some reason only about 15 or 20 clips upload then it freezes I have checked the drive and it shows the files but in words not picture format if I double click it to open and watch the file it comes up after roughly 3 minutes then it's more or less frozen it moves one frame every minute or so I have no idea what's going on can you help.

I was freaking out because this freaking gasoline truck driver was driving crazy the other day and I thought my husband would take care of it but you got to do stuff yourself if you feel strongly about it !!! So I have a Vantrue N4. Been trying to figure out how to get the videos downloaded quickly. Pulled the SD and put in my laptop and tried to download and it was soooo slow. Tried using the USB cable plugged directly into the camera and no difference. What's everyone doing
