I love how you keep your vids professional even when you're outside the home. Most people just swing their cams around like they're on a Merry-Go-Round.

Great tips! We also like to tell people that no amount of leftovers is too small to save - even a couple spoonfuls of leftover roasted vegetables, salad dressing, steak or rice can be put to use in another dish.

Stay on the outside perimeter of the store. That is almost always the more healthy, fresh and non-processed foods.
Thanks Davey for helping me jump start my new life of eating health and moving more often.

I really loved this video and how it was packed with such great tips on saving money! Who knew about frozen fruit?
My family and I have always been intimidated to shop at Whole Foods, but we now know some insider secrets on saving money. Thanks Dave!

The point you make about the frozen foods is a really good point, I dont know about the rest of the world, but here in the uk we have a company called Birds Eye. They will freeze fresh food as soon as it is back to base. So basically, as soon as you'd get it "Fresh" they freeze it, so when you defrost it, its still just as good as new! :)

Tip: Compare prices for the same item. For example, one can buy "baby carrots" (which are probably just machine processed "adult" carrots, regular carrots, carrots in a bundle or loose or bagged. It varies as to which is cheapest (but usually not the "baby" carrots). Parsnips are usually more expensive and taste similar to carrots but are sometimes on sale for cheaper. It all comes down to paying attention. Thanks Davey!

This might sound stupid, but a good tip is to base you shopping on making your dishes from scratch. When you buy fabricates or ready meals, you're paying for the food, process and the pay of the one making it. Make it yourself, and you save the money for the process and the workers pay (plus homemade food tastes soo much better and you can control what's in your meal).

Make sure to grab from the back of the shelves when you stock up, it lasts even longer that way, thus saving you even more by reducing your waste! Also, if you're a meat eater, look for the "market special" meats which are closer to expiration & freeze them, not only is it cheaper, you're reducing the grocery store's waste too!

Look for the sale section, at many places they have really ripe fruit on sale, so get them for half off then freeze and use in smoothies!

That is so true and you can also do trader joes and Aldi... They have less expensive items...

Anything I can freeze.. I buy in bulk when it's on sale and keep ziploc baggies on hand ... Chicken. Ground Turkey and Ground Chicken. Deli Meat.. and especially Strawberries.. then they're in season here.. Publix sells them 2 for 5. 2 for 4 or even at times 3 for 5.. I buy as many as I can carry home.. wash them.. slice them.. and portion them into baggies.. then just toss them into the blender with protein shakes and smoothies.

We say that in America too, it just depends on what region. On cooking show, when they're making Hummus they usually refer to them as chickpeas.

One thing I have done is growing my own produce! I know it sounds like a lot of work but I am a single mom who works full time and goes to school full time and I still have time to grow my own produce! I don't have a lot of space so I grow my own herbs and I go to community garden once a week. The community garden costs me only $75 a year that's $75 a year for most of my produce!!! You can't beat that. Plus since I grow it I know what's in it.
