Why did the father leave his daughter who was visiting him, and go hunting? He should have been home with her, not leave her with his girlfriend.

If he had no record I don't see how they can go after FedEx . They had no idea he was going to do such a horrific thing . I cannot imagine what these parents are going through . Prayers for the families

It’s similar to door dashing delivering food but you deliver packages 📦 for Fed ex. I don’t think they can hold Fed ex accountable because they have no control over what moral decisions people make. They do background checks and he had no criminal history?? How could they even know an employee would do something like that. It has nothing to do do with Fed ex could of just as well been the pizza delivery man! It’s about the individual person . a normal level headed person would have called 911 after they knew they hit a child, regardless of the consequences!

Oh my god, this mother said everything. This is so tragic

Her parents should sue the stepmom too...what kind of adult argue with a 7 year old and then let her run out of the house unnoticed for over 30 minutes? Negligence in its finest...

If any body sue let it be her mother. Has anybody even seen the dad do a interview or show his face? The stepmom didn’t care about Athena going off her actions

Athena was not correctly supervised. That will be the defense point. The step mother was neglectful.

Wtf do you expect them to do? STOP ALL OPERATIONS CAUSE OF YOU? No

This is such a horrible situation. However FedEx, and the 2nd company did a background check and nothing pop out well I don’t think it’s their fault. This lunatic should be jail for life or put down like a dog. The stepmom was negligent and should be investigated. I understand as a parent your mad but the father chose the stepmom and chose to go hunting leaving them together. If he knew they got in fight why would you leave them alone together. Now he was money 1 million, really. Be careful who you leave your child with first

Right. Because when hiring, this is exactly what Fed Ex had in mind. Deflecting grief for blood money is unbecoming.

The last think on my mind would be to sue anybody right now.

The Father should have been there for his daughter instead of being on a hunting trip. I heard he was away hunting which is unbelievable. Not sure how you can leave your princess while you enjoy other things.

The story on how Athena died makes no sense.

Heartbreaking tragedy and so sorry for their loss, I don’t see how they can sue FedEx though, how you vet for a potential murderer if he clears a background check?

The mama saying her baby girl was her father's girl speaks volumes. I can't imagine what her family is experiencing internally, but this was such a brave and strong statement 💗

The "they continued normal operations" throws me off. What did they expect fed ex to do? Stop delivering? Every employee loses work and income? Every package ordered by others is dismissed? I'm confused.
