Ranked among the best in the world by the World Health Organization, it is generous and universal. Residents of France get great health care for low prices and get reimbursed for most of it. But who pays for the system? And is it sustainable?

The US healthcare system is a real mess. Even those with 'quality's insurance aren't always happy (me for instance). Healthcare typically doesn't cover dentistry, optical services, hearing aides, some procedures that are optional but not judged medically necessary (patients often feel differently), and in spite of these exceptions, insurance for most remains too costly.

I wonder how much of that money ( billions ) stolen from AFRICA by FRENCH government every year helps FRENCH people have a good life/health service.

Would be interesting to compare the U.S. healthcare bureaucracy with the French healthcare bureaucracy. That may be why the U.S. healthcare spending is at 17 percent.

Cost of care is important, but pales into comparison of quality of care. Another important factor is, are new medical innovations, medications, advancements, etc. rising from France's system? If the health care is only dependent of the innovations of others, it's not universally stable. Unfortunately this video doesn't cover this information, and definitely worth mentioning. Another point, if the system is generating debt, it clearly still needs improvement. It may be fine now, but eventually the bill comes!
