George Lucas even went as far as doing entire lore about why Windu has a Purple lightsaber and all. It's now a cannon!

I like how instead of trashing other's ideas George always manages to integrate them into his storytelling perfectly. He could've just refused and gave Mace Windu a green/blue lightsaber but he instead chose to honour Samuel's request and even added to the lore to explain it.

I find it funny that in all cinematic canon it's just never explained why his saber's purple, not even in the tv shows. Its just like: "Yep the 4th only black guy in star wars just happens to have a purple lightsaber, just roll with it."

I hope Lucas appreciates how mindblowing it was for 11 year old kids to see a purple blade in theaters like that. I still remember it to this day and Mace has always been my favorite secondary character because of it.

It was a good choice to add it.
