As a young kid, I always wanted to wear a suit and tie. Growing up wanting to put on such attire like those figures, I was always told that it is not in our place to wear one. That it is not in our "class" to wear one.

Now as an adult, I put on such attire of three button coat and suit and tie. But where I am from, this is either frowned upon or rather you'd become an object of ridicule amongst the norm. Why? Because its apparently "out of place to wear such a suit". They say it's not in our standards to wear such especially for our generation. Sometimes they say you're putting up airs or showboating for wearing one.

But I ask, who the hell set the standards of what is "normal", or considered "tolerable"? Who the hell told us what to wear and what we must follow the trend? Tik-Tok and their influencers? Why are they so bothered that when a few people wear something like a suit and tie? Since when did ties became an eye raiser? Must we be obedient to a cabal of modern influencers?

I say wear what is making you happy, not because of some cringe trend that blends you in the crowd. If we let some lousy cringe tolerating conspiring app be our trendsetter for our lives, then we really have let ourselves into the dark ages.

Long overcoats never stopped looking badass. I should buy one.

Update: I got one in an end-of-year sale and have already been complimented on it several times.

I'm not even going to lie, as woman, vintage male fashion is extremely attractive. Though, I don't know if my opinion counts much seeing as I absolutely adore vintage fashion and other things in general...

Long coats, trench coats, top hats, hats in general, Victorian clothing. You can never go wrong with the classics.

I like Peaky Blinders for various reasons but one of them is the esthetic of the time, just so glorious to see everyone so nicely dressed even if their pieces were cheap ones they looked classy

Interesting fact: the photo at 0:31 is a photo of some of the RMS Titanic’s crew members that survived the sinking. The man that is 2nd to left on the first row (lowest row) in between the men with 2 mustaches, his name was Frederick Fleet, he was the lookout that spotted the iceberg and yelled on the phone to the ship’s officers “Iceberg Right Ahead!” When he spotted the iceberg. Before he got onto a lifeboat he helped many escape off the ship during the sinking and helped with many court sessions discussing what happened that night. He died in the 1960s by suicide. RIP Frederick Fleet

As a Turk, you have no idea how proud I feel when I see Mustafa Kemal Atatürk in your edit. God bless those who gave their bloods, sweats and tears for their country and managed to look fashionable and cool while doing so!

I once wore a suit and tie, as I took a walk outside people were judging me cause they thought I was a show-off. I find modern society's fashion and mindset very disappointing.

Edit: If anyone is wondering why, it's because I live in a third world country(Philippines). People here don't wear suit and tie as an everyday outfit, rather we are more into western influence like modern clothing. Even our president wears polo shirts for special meetings and public announcements.

It is really refreshing to see that you included Atatürk as well; he was probably one of the most well-dressed and good-looking leaders in history.

As a woman: yes!!! I absolutely adore this! It’s so attractive! Men: if you want to dress like this, follow your heart. You only live once. Life is too short to live according to what others decide for you to wear. Your body, your choice.

The key to pulling off the look nowadays is to either completely full send it or just take inspiration. A black wool coat never looks bad, and they make ones in more modern styles. There are literally tons of casual button down shirts that look better than T shirts, or even baseball tees (the ones with the differently colored sleeves, not a t-shirt with a team logo on it), henleys, polos, etc. You can find wool slacks, a nice pair of chinos, dark wash jeans, and all sorts of pants that look nicer but aren't too 'dressy'. A pair of leather boots in black or brown are good to cap it off. Earth tones, subdued colors, those were also hallmarks of 20th century fashion. Hell, peaky blinders has given me the confidence to wear a flatcap around and I've gotten compliments.

We live in an age that supposedly broke the rigid social standards of yesterday, but that doesn't mean we can't still follow them. You just need the confidence to break with the crowd a little bit.

Honestly, it's kind of my dream to have my wardrobe consist of 1800s - 1950s era.

Especially military uniforms. I was never interested in serving in the military but I am a fan of their fashion all those centuries ago.

I don't want to be judged but one of my goals is to go out in public wearing a German uniform WITHOUT a swastika band, of course.

I am not a fan of the atrocities of the Germans but I can't get over how good they looked.

I mean, even the video itself literally says that the good and the bad of the past all shared the trait of looking good.

I don't care if I get looked down on. I don't care if I get called a "Nazi." At least I am not ashamed to bring back tradition at a time where technology and modernity has killed it... obviously I am talking about clothes, not Nazism.

I want to bring back real men's fashion.
I want to start a revolution.

As a girl myself, today's fashion really is bland. The amount of ridicule I have faced because I don't like wearing jeans is tremendous
I even wore a simple dress and I was made fun of for being a show off
Even make up is boring. You have the opportunity to play so much with colors and all you do is make your face more "earthy"?
What's the point of make up then? Just to hide your imperfections? People should embrace what they like more often and be more happy with themselves
