I was lucky enough to see the aventurine Speedmaster in Dallas a few years ago. That dial is far, far sexier in boutique lighting than it is here. The flakes sparkle differently to each eye, too, so in real life, the surface appears deeper than it ever does on camera. I'd have it today if I weren't married.

The Speedy is the most versatile watch and even though the base design is the same it looks somehow different and every time exciting in a different way. Thanks for this speedy vid, especially the macro reveal the pure beauty of these watches and dials.
My favorite Speedy is my sapphire sandwich. True, I sometimes would like to have the plexi on the front but I still do enjoy that watch, especially when I flip it around and enjoy the view of that beautiful movement.

I saw the Speedmaster Apollo-Soyuz Meteorite dial in real, it is stunning! The shinny gray sub-dials steal the show. It is the one to get as it is surprisingly still below the 10k$.

Wow. Wasn't aware of the 1975 Apollo/Soyuz special edition. I'd love to own one - I did my university Illustration course final major artwork based on the mission, way back in about '91. I love the Gibeon face, it looks amazing.

My favorite Speedmaster is the 2001 Schumacher. At first glance it looks like a run of the mill speedy with a black dial. You then realize the dial is carbon fiber, eventually you notice that the only hour number is the 1. Very subtle and very classy! It is also limited to "only" 11, 111. It all commemorates his 1st of 5 championships for Ferrari. I just love mine!
