Dogs are known for their loyalty, and rats are known to abandon sinking ships.

"Stands up to Voldemort every June!". Really shows how much Voldy respects Harry's education.

I'm a proud Hufflepuff and I always wonder why no one ever mentions our other crucially important virtue, Justice. "Hufflepuff, where they are *Just* and loyal."

The Marauders would have been way more interesting, character wise if they were actually from each of the houses. I bet a friend group of non house mates would be rare at Hogwarts.

its kinda funny how Slughorn (a Slytherin) and Peter (a Gryffindor) both used their friendships and relationships with other people to get power, but the Gryffindor (from the "good house") ends up siding with Voldemort and the Slytherin (from the "evil house") ends up siding with Harry. That's a weird parallel I had never thought of before

I'm glad someone has finally realised how cunning and intelligent Wormtail was. He's always seen as a snivelling bafoon, a comic relief side kick. But his actions really show otherwise.

Me before watching this "There's going to be a lot of Sirius seriously jokes"

I prefer to separate them by what they see magic as: Gryffindor, magic is a weapon (something dangerous), Hufflepuff-a gift to others, Ravenclaw-something to understand the world better through, and Slytherin-magic is status

I always figured Sirius needed an extreme amount of bravery to reject his family's sorting. Because of the bravery required in being his own person he was put into Gryffindor

Do you agree? Are the Marauders meant to represent the 4 houses?

Not to mention his extreme kindness to Harry as well as the hard work he puts in to become an Animagus.

Did you just imply the mascot for Hufflepuff should be a dog?
And I approve the creation of the word lupinly.

Am I the only one who was immediately sold and could see how he’d fit in with Huff?

I mean??

“Nice one, James!”

Remus didn’t know about the Sirius/Peter secret keeper switch because Sirius thought that Remus was the spy. As much as I like to pretend the prank didn’t happen, it was a serious betrayal of Sirius to endanger Remus in such a way. He’s passionate and reckless-the fatal flaws of a Gryffindor.
I’d argue that James is more Hufflepuff than Sirius. James, who took Peter under his wing, Sirius under his roof, and Remus under his protection. James, whose blind loyalty to his friends, is what killed him and his family in the end. J brings up James trying to fight Voldemort wandless, as proof of his bravery. I say it’s proof of his loyalty and his trust that his friends would never betray him, that he would be unarmed when his family is in so much danger.

“No, I think you’re like James, ” said Lupin, “who would have regarded it as the height of dishonor to mistrust his friends.”

"I would have died! I would have died rather than betray my friends!"

Speaking as a (very proud) Hufflepuff myself...come on. Are we not bellowing "HUFFLEPUFF" to the heavens here?

Sirius is not only a dog but also mistaken, by Harry, to be the Grim a dog that strikes just as much fear if not more in wizards as werewolves. This shows even more loyalty to Lupin because even though he can’t choose his Animagus form it still would be a way for Sirius to metaphorically make Lupin feel more comfortable about his own wolffish-ness.

Actually, Sirius' proposal to change the Secret Keeper proves even more loyality to James, as Sirius was able to take himself down from the pedestal of being the Keeper and suggested a way that (in his belief) protected James even more, placing his firend's safety above his own ego.

Also as a dog and his heightened sense of smell, he is a particularly good finder.
