Made in America! The Bread Pal foldable bread slicing guide has been produced since 1994.

Beware of the imitators; our original foldable design has been poorly copied and imported, however the quality of the Bread Pal is second to none. Perfect slices every time!

The Bread Pal is a bread slicing guide that is made with Maple and Birch hardwood and hardwood faced materials and a high density polyethylene cutting surface. It's spring loaded design is quick to set up (2-3 seconds) with absolutely no assembly required; and it folds to a 2 inch height for compact storage.

The Bread Pal slices 1/2" and 3/8" pieces; however, slicing in every other slot produces extra thick slices for those homemade bread lovers that like thicker slices!

Pro Tip: you have it backwards, it is designed to set the guide next to the size slice you want, then cut bread in the "same / closest groove" to the guide thus pushing the loaf against the guide after each slice. This way "all slices" are the same width, versus walking the blade down the different thicknesses or having to move the guide as you cut. Lol- took me a few loaves to realize this, but is the most consistent method. Enjoy!

Thank you. Was looking for a good slicer guide for tall bread that comes out of my bread machine.

I've had one of these for a few years and it's perfect for my homemade bread. You actually have more than just two thicknesses. There is the (a) thin, (b) thicker and (c) double-thin, which is a little thicker than (b). Just skip one slot in the (a) thin guide area and make it twice as thick as a single thin. This is great for cutting bread to make french toast.

I have the same slicing guide and I love it. I bake bread regularly and use it regularly. Bread is sliced beautifully.

I use an upside-down lid from a hard plastic box to cut even bread slices. It's about 5" wide and 12" long and is made of hard plastic. It's a tad over a half inch deep for slices just a tiny bit thinner than standard store bought bread. I simply upend the loaf over one end of the upside down-lid and saw away with a bread knife. I get perfectly uniform slices and then return the lid to its box so I don't have an extra gadget to store. You could probably also use a wood or metal lid but you might damage the edges if it's wood and metal might not be sturdy enough. The dimensions don't really matter as long as it is wide and long enough for your loaf of bread and not too wide to accommodate your knife. Look around your house... you might find the perfect lid and it won't cost you a dime!

The best slicing guide that I've found is the Presto one that's no longer available other than on Ebay.

Thanks for sharing. For some reason I always end up slicing the slicer. Maybe that's why they call it a slicer but I don't enjoy eating wood. Once a large splinter got stuck in my throat from the bread slicer, it was there for a week and I initially thought that I had tonsillitis

I've used this slicer for about a year and a half. I have one criticism and that is the plastic bread stop is not rigid. It bows in the center and you will get a cut that is not uniform. I push my bread against the stop and cut. I do not support it from the back and cut from the front. I wish the stop could be made from a sturdier material such as bamboo.

Bought this. The sharp knife doesn't go well cutting next to wood. Even though I am very careful, I end up with bamboo splinters. Could be very dangerous. I just don't think wood and sharp knives go together. I'm now looking for something else to help me cut my home made bread.

That device is literally the "Best Thing Since Sliced Bread".

We have this guide. Unfortunately, the slices are either too thin or too thick.

The loaf is much narrower than the width of the side fences. Thus, one has to hold the bread to prevent it from moving from side to side with the bread slicing knife. For a tender loaf, that may not be too difficult. For a denser loaf, maybe kept in the refrigerator to preserve it, holding the loaf would be more difficult to do.
