My father sung this for me and my sister when we were small and we all sang together. i still have tapes of us and we were like 3 and 4 years old. when my father was dying long distance my sister and i sung this in to the phone.
Feb 21 my beloved sister was dying on a ER table and i sung this to her in her ear and then at her memorial, after playing the tapes of us singing together. My heart is broken and i miss her and my father so much. This song will always be so special to me.

My mom has alzheimer’s disease and she got blinded both eyes due to glaucoma (eye condition). At the moment I am assisting her walking now as she is exercising, while listening to her favorite song 500 miles. She still knows the lyrics and this song makes her happy and reminisce her childhood.
