Roughly the same journey.

Bought a navy peacoat,
Then a black Burberry trench,
Then splurged on a shearling B3,
Then got Barbour Beaufort.

Was gonna buy P.w. VC donegal but ended up with a suitsupply grey balmacaan/raglan coat.

Whenever I see coats that look like trench coats but do not fall below the knees. I conclude that they aren't real trench coats. Long trench coats are the true trench coats. It just has that authentic badass nature. Long trench coats imo are more aesthetically pleasing to see especially when worn with a fedora like Dick Tracy & Carmen Sandiego
