People who buy Teslas are getting exactly what they deserve. They are so invested in Status that they forego common sense and buy something with no means of repair!

Here's an amusing observation: When a Tesla vehicle is repaired Tesla sends a van to where the vehicle is. The van is always gasoline powered. What does that say about how confident Tesla actually is about their vehicles. They make this goofy looking Cybertruck yet they don't make an electric van to send for servicing their own vehicles.

I live in southern calif and Teslas are EVERY.WHERE here. Must be a million or so of those cars here. But one thing doing automotive work taught me, it practically never pays to be first to buy an unproven product...

I couldnt imagine owing a Toyota and waiting 1 year for a waterpump, and if i went to an independent shop my warranty gets voided. What a scam!

If I can't work on a vehicle myself I don't want it.

Still cannot beat gas, a carb, and proper gearing. Simple, effective. Maybe one day it can be. Man did not need a gate until a fence was invented.

I don't think Tesla is a priority for Musk, especially with everything else going on in the world. He is no longer part of the day-to-day operations. He may be trying to expand in China, but X and SpaceX seem to dominate the spotlight.

Not only Tesla denies service or parts to their customers. Toyota does it too. I paid for a hundred thousand miles extended warranty and Toyota never honor this transaction they sent me a letter stating that they will not provide me service anymore and my car only had 82, 000 miles plus so I recommend not to buy extended service at any dealer cause they’re only looking at your pocket. After all everything’s business only. Toyota dealers are crooked too.

That's one reason I won't buy an electric vehicle if you're traveling on the highway and you can
t charge your car you an't going anywhere

I have a 2006 Tundra. Have had to replace and fix several thousand dollars in parts. The rear end differential is not very robust for towing and easily breaks down. Parts for the rear are none existent or have to come from the junk yard. Also
the underside rusts out prematurely. However, the engine is bulletproof and will probably run for 300k+. It also has lousy brakes. El stupido tire pressure sensors, and emergency brake issues.

Been waiting 6 months for a refurbished ABS computer module on my 2012 GMC---because GMC stopped making them. I just bought a Toyota and will never own an American car ever again.

that's a shame. I hate when I needed a part for any car I my '96 Lexus ES....a cluster of sensors. It's really not honorable at all. As long as the car is "out there" parts should be available!

An interesting question is what happens when Tesla discontinues some models. Will Tesla stop making parts for them that are not shared with newer models?

Doesn’t STELANTIS …aka Dodge, Ram, not share their computer software to fix their vehicles unless a service company buys the very expensive software with a lot of strings attached seem about the same as not making “parts” available due to the prohibitive costs in relation to the cost of the repair ?

I was always curious about repairs and replacement parts? Good to know I won't waste 1 second looking at that mess.

That electric powered ferry might seem to be ok "on the surface", as it were. But when the battery catches fire in the middle of the river, then what? It's gonna be polluting the water like mad.

I worked in Auto Salvage Yard decades ago. There was a phone network system called the "Hot Line". Connecting yards over an entire region.
You can drive for years on good used parts. Seen a bunch of low mileage cars and trucks and lots of parts still functioning. And it's gravy if the part you need is factory, pristine, junk yard queen!
