Howl: Threatens to lose his humanity and become a monster forever by doing what he does.

Also Howl: Throws the most epic temper tantrum ever because the maid accidentally turned his hair black.

My mom hired a pianist to play this song for my grandpa's funeral. I don't think my grandpa knows anything about the movie or anything about Ghibli Studio, but my mom thought it would be perfect. When the pianist played this song, there were a lot of mistakes near the end but I still loved it and I'll never forget it.

What if people expressed their emotions by having music playing? Like as in an alternate universe where music plays quietly in the background or like in the movies. Imagine your sitting in a rocking chair knowing your time is up. You watch the sun come up as you then start to think about all of your memories as the music starts playing, the climax and all. Till the music suddenly starts to slow down. And then you take your last breath, smiling.

This girl in my beginning piano class chose to learn this as her very first song. It shocked us all when she performed this piece because she learned so much very quickly. I randomly remembered this and I also remembered the name so I looked it up and here I am. It’s so pretty

Everyone here talking about their weddings and funerals or living in a castle. Me just being nostalgic about my childhood when I watched these amazing Miyazaki movies

How can one song pack so much emotion, sadness, melancholy, nostalgia and happiness at the same time? We don't deserve Hisaishi.

I love the way that this song seems to go through the stages of life, matching its name. At the beginning it’s a little slow and uncertain like a newborn child, then it starts to get more comfortable, playful, and even mischievous as if it were a young trickster. Then it deepens, making me think of first loves and heartbreaks. At the midpoint where it seems to start over is when they left their home to go make a life for themselves. It then repeats, if a bit differently, as they watched their own children grow up and leave. Then it went through stages of adulthood, with the aging and the love and the scary new territory. It’s the very end that gets me the most (apart from the beginning) with its sudden scary, intense bit and then a peaceful finish, like the fear of passing until you’re gone and then you realize it’s not so scary after all.... Anyway those were just my thoughts I wanted to share.

Edit: Woah I had no idea people were liking and responding so much. Thanks guys, that’s pretty cool!

This song sounds like how falling in love feels. Not just the bit where you're actually *in love, * but the realization, the dwelling on what that means, the ups & down, all of it. It's beautiful

I want this song to be played during my funeral, so that people who attend can leave with peace of mind, and to represent that life moves on like a merry-go round.

I am searching for a dress that looks the way this soundtrack feels.

I think this song represents the multiple stages of life, hence “Merry Go Round of Life”. So when the music gets more slow at the end it symbolizes death and the old age, but in the start it’s all happy, so like being a child. You know what I mean?

this song isn't just art.

it is, honestly, a piece of music that is a masterpiece. up there with Mozart, Beethoven, this song can sit.
