Is “The Chosen” Series Truly Biblical?

Look, I don't particularly like the show and I am bothered by the inaccuracy but I have to say that I've seen youth starting to come to church because they've seen the show and it got them interested in the bible. God has shown me my pride and also shown me that He can use all for His glory and to bring people closer to Him!

I like The Chosen, and they do keep true to the scriptures. Sure there's added background stories, but it doesn't feel blasphemous. It supports God's word even more.

I wish someone could do the entire bible series without adding anything to it. Even if it was boring i would watch it. Tell it as it is, no need for the entertainment aspect. Just tell the story visually.

I didn't want to watch the show but i was bored and decided to watch it. 10min in the website crashes. I refresh the page and a red sign appeared. I refresh it again and its still not working.
Me personally i think God was telling me, dont watch it. Thats not Jesus. And they do give a misinterpretation to appease the masses. Brother parr is a great teacher, but when it comes to the entertainment issue he is so wrong.

I can't understand why it is, when people watch secular TV, they can separate the actor from the character in the show, it's a job. But when it come to this show, everyone is so quick to let Satan use them to tear down the growing call to the fellowship with Jesus Christ. Do the people complaining actually read or listen to the testimony of the people saved by watching the show? Or are you only interested in getting your likes and comments by berating the show. It is unbelievable the number of people who have found Jesus and returned to a true interest in the bible because of this show. But hey, just like with the Pharisee's, every man and woman will have their day before the judgement seat and those books will open. I hope your hearts are in the right place. Speak specific to the episode and scene in the episode where the actor has strayed away from the script to support Mormonism or Catholicism. I have never heard anyone say "I converted to Catholicism or Mormonism or Islam" because of this show. Get your Bible, sit with the show, study the word, pray for heavens wisdom and discernment. Pray that those who won't read the Bible will be encouraged by the message of the gospel presented here. Read the book for the facts. The points of salvation are the pillars you need. Please stop being pawns for satan.

Idk anything about the chosen, but Angel Studio's Sound of Freedom and recently After Death have been two of the most amazing and impactful film productions that Ive come across. I recommend all Christians watch them and I'm excited for the next

I personally think all should watch it. The chosen is all about Jesus. Don't look at messenger but listen to the message. Get what you can out of it and leave the rest where it is.

Can we please move past the constant debate about theology and talk about other things that hinder one’s faith; not understanding hermeneutics, spiritual realm, witchcraft and psychics in The church, passiveness in American culture to share the gospel. Most American Christian’s should be off the milk by now !!! This show is great and has led many to Jesus ! If you’re a legalist GREAT! We need you to share truth not CONDEMN.

Jesus told John not to stop those who were for Him but not one of the 12! Also Paul said to the effect, as long as Christ is preached, the motives don't matter! This is because it is the Gospel and our faith in Jesus that saves us, God can and will use lost people to spread the Gospel!

My family and I watch it because it helps the kids witness the Bible stories. And we refer back to the chosen when reading the gospel of Luke for advent. They enjoy it.

Here’s my opinion: It is inaccurate to the bible. It is very inaccurate and i wouldn’t recommend watching it if you are trying to study biblical things. *However* I will say that this show has gotten me very closer to God because of the messages and moments in it. There are some
biblically accurate scenes that stuck to me and there was a specific scene that almost made me ball out in tears. I personally enjoy the show because i’m into old time shows too. Would i recommend yall to check it out, absolutely. Be mindful of idolatry and don’t worship any actors or actresses

I've explained it to people in the sense that it's sort of a modern parable. You try to tell people a story to convey a message and a meaning. The story doesn't have to be what actually happened. It's sort of like when Jesus tells the parable of Lazarus.
There is nowhere else in the scripture that talks about when you die, you hang around suffering and burning in a pit of fire. The entire scripture says you sleep and await the resurrection and your judgment. And then if you are found guilty at that point, you are cast into a Lake of fire and destroyed. No one is hanging around right now in the lake of fire. Again it was a parable
