Porsche 944 early model nuances

This 1983 car is one of the earliest 944s to ever come through the shop with a build date of Feb. ‘82. Of course things change as car models evolve and it’s fun pointing out some stuff about the early cars and the little things that make them unique. Thank you for watching and please like and subscribe!

Another very cool feature with some 1983 944's is the embossed door cards. They say PORSCHE across the top of them!

I'd love you to be able to nerd out and tell me all the things on my 87' 944S. Really looks like you live and breath these cars, thank you for the content!

I have an 83. I really enjoy having manual steering. It makes the car really fun to drive. A driving experience you don’t get anymore. You feel that road on curves. Great video.

Nice video. Thank for sharing. I have an ‘83 944 (VIN: DN). It was manufactured in May ‘83. It shipped with manual steering, the updated bleeder, full cooling fins, black cover, no lower bracket but with the 924 hood.

Great channel! Take care.

Awesome! Mine is 5/82 and I have the hood prop bracket as well! Just noticed it the other day and also have a green vac as well! That car must be one of the earliest if not the earliest US import in existence as a 2/82 mfgr incredible!

Where did you source those fender covers?? I’m picking my 85.1 up late this week with a fresh paint job. Need to protect the hard work.

Note about German Model years. When I was in Germany, they said production year is Model Year (not like in USA where they start model year in August usually)

Heya Tim, Good morning! Had a very similar looking headlamp, got sucked into oblivion, probably rolling under a customers dash somewhere.

Hey man just discovered your channel, love your videos! I'm currently working on a slate gray 85/2. Quick question: My door and targa roof seals are kinda worn out. I've been looking for replacement seals but can't find the right types. Do you know which types of seals they used for the doors and targa roof? Cheers.

you say they came on the 84 (the bleeder valve upgrade) but my engine is an 83 code, but has it... maybe previous owner upgraded it? is it a straight bolt on?

Cool to see this car has the original ball joints and A-arms. When would you recommend they be replaced? Also, where's the neat looking aluminum bellypan?

I have a 83 Light Blue Metallic (LM5Z) it's a One year color im told with build date May82. I have to look more closely, Idk if it has the hood strut mount. Thanks for the info!

That excellent best colour for the 944, guards red 👌. It’s such a shame the USA cars have the awful rear bumpers, can they be modded to look like the pretty European models?
