Today we are reviewing the new Mudmaster the GWG2000!!! The tutorial is the same as for the GWG1000, so I won't be doing that with this.
GWG-2000 has adopted the Carbon Core Guard structure like many new Gshocks making it slimmer and smaller than the GWG-1000 while keeping the same shock resistance!
The bezel has also been changed to a metal one for a more premium look.

I have the GWG-2K. The improvements over the GWG-1K are not just cosmetic: better lume; better illumination; much better LCD display; improved crown and buttons; lighter, thinner; better materials (forged carbon, SS, CCG vs plastic)

I have both the 1000 and the 2000 versions. The led is noticeably brighter and the digital display is more legible on the 2000.

I cannot understand the negativity surrounding this watch. I think IT IS improvement since the new carbon infused body is way better than the regular resin one. It might look more blingy, but look on the bright side - it does not look that plasticky and lacks the after taste of faint cheapness the original had.
I am not a fan of the Mudmaster, but even so - if I had to choose I'd got with the newer one.

I’ve been looking to get the GWG 1000 for years but I have worried about the size being too big. I have larger wrists but it still looks massive, then I found the 2000 and it looks noticeably smaller and more premium. I think I’ll be plenty happy with the 2000

I think I'll keep my GWG 1000 and invest in something different.

As a "tough watch" the Gwg 1000 is better purely because it's easier to rebuild if you get it scuffed up. The Gwg 1000 has a one piece easily replacable bezel. The stell bezel on the Gwg 2000 is, I believe, 25 individual pieces. It is harder, more time consuming and much more expensive to replace.

I've owned the GWG1000 for quite a while now and I got to handle this new model a few days ago and I've got to say, it seems a bit more refined than the 1000 it seems fancier, if I were a new collector I would be quite happy with either of them, they are both awesome in my opinion.

There's a difference between the carbon core and the forged carbon fibre sections on the bezel, the carbon core is a polycarbonate, in this instance it's a mixture of carbon powder and plastic which makes it 100 times stronger than glass whereas the forged carbon fibre is a resin polymer mixed with chopped carbon fibre and forced into a mould at high heat and if over 0.8 to 1.5mm thick is 100 times stronger than steel. Both similar in compounds but very different overall.

I have a gwg 1000 in green, and the gwg 2000 in black and the sand one. The only thing I hate about the gwg 2000 is the sand beige band gets stained really easily by clothing. Other than that, I love that it’s much thinner

Love the video. Love the channel. Can't agree not to upgrade though... I started with the GG 1000 so between the two, I went with the 2k and cannot be convinced the 1k was ever better.

You spoke of the lume, but not of the vastly improved light. The inability of the light to throw light on the LCD display at night ruined the older model. This improved feature alone in the new version made it worth buying - since I actually use it in the outdoors at night.

Any watch can be made to look classy. This is without doubt one of the best watches to come out of G-Shock in the last couple of years. Does everything, wear on the mountain, wear in the office, wear to a wedding, wear on the farm.
