Some peope are asking " The blind soldier" version is the sequel after "The Stone Kingdom"?
Not really.
Actually, when I was drawing the story of Medusa and the blind soldier in 2017, I didn't complete Medusa’s past very well.
So I didn`t post it on Youtube, make sure people didn`t confuse them.
but you can read it on my facebook👇

So they`re not the same series.
You can think of it as a story from another "What if".🐍🐍

I love the character/personalities of each of the snakes. They aren’t generic, mindless or bending to Medusa’s will. They are their own organism separate to her. When they are not eating people, biting them, or turning them into stone, they actually seem like good sidekicks, good friends, very goofy too 😂

I love how the soldier doesn't die in a heroic pose like the hero he thinks he is. He dies being petrified by his own weapon, desperately crawling away from it. Really poetic.

You made a beautiful retelling of the myth here! I really love your designs for Medusa (the reddish purple complement the teal snakes perfectly) and the Hero/Perseus. The fact that he not only used war prisoners for slave labor, but also the stone bodies of petrified enemies to literally build his kingdom, was downright chilling.
Even if I'm a bit bummed that Medusa had a start of evil at the end, it's not all that surprising considering the amount of shit she had to go through...

I find it heartbreakingly sad that she becomes the monster everyone thought she was. Having lost everything, she becomes what others made her to be.

That ending seemed almost....ominous. Like Medusa had to give into the savagery of her enemies a bit, just so she could smile at the closest to 'peace' she might ever get.

I really like this version of the story, as it tells a different event to the classic story while also incorporating other elements, such as the fact Medusa was originally BORN as a Gorgon rather than it being a curse by Athena. And Perseus here is a surprisingly effective villain. He's cold, ruthless, strong and powerful as expected of a Greek Hero, and most importantly smart. He clearly remembers Medusa and seems to have pieced together that his shield's petrifying power came from her rather than the snake he cut off and took advantage of his scared eye's lessened sight to bypass that while still allowing him to see her. And you can clearly tell he's not a guy who plays around with his enemies. The second he sees you're a threat, he immediately goes for the kill. No monologues. No shows of honor. No underestimating his opponent.

I’m sad there’s no happy ending, but I realize that’s the point. Medusa’s tale was never meant to be happy and cute. It was and forever will be a devastating tale. I enjoyed your take on it, the retelling, and your art style was beautiful. Thank you for this.

I admire the fact that you don't really care about how long it takes, you only care about creating a good story❤

I really like the Kings design. He's drawn like a good guy. Every time he looks happy it feels genuine, not like he's enjoying other peoples pain or anything. It makes the whole story feel like a tragedy. He had opportunities to be good. But every time, he chose to do evil. And that brought destruction on everything he cared about.

I'm glad to finally see Medusa seen as a more troubled relatable person and not just a straight up villain for once. Her backstory is so tragic. And I love how beautiful she looks in your art style

I know this isn't supposed to be a story with a happy ending where things work out well for her, but man, I still just want to give her a hug! It'll be my headcannon that she someday meets someone blind and can live a happy life together.

I know the artist has heard this many times, but this is real art. A wonderful story with even more wonderful characters and animation.

Not a word spoken, a literal slidedhow as the main way to tell the story, and yet it's *AN ABSOLUTE MASTERPIECE.* God, please, give this person an animation studio already.

While she wasn’t meant to be, the Gorgon sisters were just another series of monsters birthed by Medusa, I’ve always loved how people reinterpret Medusa as a tragic hero, often letting her live past her bout with Perseus either through magic or Perseus being merciful. This version where Perseus turns into a violent tyrant is no less interesting.

Only silent and ashes remains, the echoes of an era that reach it's end, but at last, Medusa is free from the chackles of endless suffering, now able to choose a new path, far away from the painful memories of the past.

Gosh, this was absolutely breathtaking! The art, the music, the STORY... I remember watching the prequel when it first came out and while I never forgot about it, this installment was still such a surprise! After all these years, Medusa has a *whole kingdom* to live in--a place where she can finally be free and never hurt anyone or be hurt ever again. Its still sad that it was either this or death, of course, but at least she's *safe* and, in a way, *free*
