The CBN on the 21st of December

❗️Breaking news❗️- NIGERIA has revised its cash withdrawal limits to N500, 000 and N5, 000, 000 for individuals and corporates respectively starting January 9th 2023.

This was changed from the December 6th announcement 📣 of N100, 000 and N500, 000 (for individuals and corporations respectively) 👀

We also noticed they have reduced the processing fees for withdrawals above this limit from 5% and 10% to 3% and 5%

➡️ What do you think led to this change?? Drop your comments below 👇🏽

That is £36 at the current rate. I will go elsewhere like Ghana or SA to enjoy my holiday. This is ridiculous

You will just have to pay for services by PoS. And also pay before service to ensure the payment goes through.

This is crazy, I think I will be changing my dollar once a week with Aboki and avoid the bank completely.

Insane, that’s what it is . Anything to inflict pain on the citizens. It has become their life’s work. It was the NIN last year . What is it going to be next year?

Hello Sassy
The government is just encouraging a cashless soceity...it is the same in Europe as well...take for instance in Ireland max withdrawal at cashpoint is 700 euros per day... same goes at the bank as well... it is a world wide trend

This system will collapse soon . Not sustainable.

This policy like every policy in Nigeria will end up creating problem for business owners. Personal and co-operate organizations will run into stalmate in transactions. POS businesses will scale down. Does the CBN has the right to limit individuals to 20K daily? CBN has put it's hand on what it's not permitted to handle by law. This might only create poverty down the road. There was no robust consultation with other stakeholders and the public before this policy was made public.

That's going to destroy your tourism furthermore all your prices will drop to compensate for that so maybe they're trying to reduce inflation

They are implementing quantitative tightening to make naira relevant as to allow naira gain some values by making it scarce.

Nigerian lawmakers always ask themselves 3 things:
1. Is this policy completely irrelevant to solving Nigeria's actual problems?
2. Can it help us to steal and monopolize more money for ourselves?
3. How can we do more to increase suffering and make life more difficult for the masses of ordinary Nigerians?
