I own a PRS SE Custom 24 myself and can confirm it is an amazing instrument for the price.

I like the se custom 24 more than an actual gibson lespaul

For this money i think that PRS have no equals, overall the custom 24.

That PRS SE sounds more like a les paul than that les paul

The PRS sounds and looks the best, closely followed by Fender.

The flame maple top on the PRS is the Veneer, not the cap.

I think its the PRS. The more I play, the more I appreciate attention to detail. Yes, the PRS can be a hotter sound, but I've been able to manipulate that a lot through the amp. You didn't mention the coil tap feature. That makes the PRS a lot more versatile, a much better jam guitar than either the Fender or the Gibson. I have a 2015 S2 Custom 24. The fit and finish is so far above any guitar at the same price point. Really nice guitar. If they did something similar for the SE, buy it.

I managed to grab a MIJ Strat for £750 - Flame Maple top with binding round the body - Rosewood fingerboard. Build quality is brilliant and it sounds bloody epic. Deals are out there people, need to be patient to find them.

Guitar snobbery with usa products. I've 2 strats one mim and one usa. Both excellent gigging guitars.

The (Non-American) PRS guitars are aces! Totally cracking for the cost. Seriously good guitars

I have a PRS SE Custom 24 and a Fender MIM Standard Stratocaster Plus Top and I love them both! I think the PRS covers the best of both worlds (Humbuckers and Single coil with coil split).

I suspect that the PRS SE has a maple cap with a flamed maple veneer. I'm sure it's a great instrument nonetheless but it's worth pointing that out. Also that Les Paul Junior is a work of art.

PRS SE models in general are damn good, but some play better than others. My advice is to buy from a shop or used rather than online. I was at a Guitar Center a few days ago and tried three different Custom 24s. Only one was worth buying (and it had neck binding as well). I have a SE Bernie Marsden model that is really great... I pick it up as much as I do my Lester R8 that cost 7 times as much.

I literally could not decide, and have bought all three over the last 9 months or so. It's such a coincidence that you have done a video on what amounts to the last year of my life!!

First I got the mim strat. It made a kind of pragmatic sense. Then I needed Humbuckers - I looked to Gibson. I got the model up from the les paul junior - but not by much. I got the tribute. One model up, I think??

(.. So, pretty close to your lpj, and the only one of the three not the exact model.)

Finally, I saw the incredible build quality, stunning design aesthetic, stellar playabilty of PRS at such great value? I just had to have it!

So, as you can see, I actually lived through the dilemma you posed in the video. And I came out buying all three. Was that a good decision? The jury's still out... But I know I still owe a good chunk of change...

I see a lot of people choose the PRS over the Fender Strat and the Gibson LP Junior. I have both a Fender and a Gibson and I dont need any PRS. The PRS lacks a signature sound. The sound found in Fender when you strum a chord and you can hear all the individual notes, and the Gibson Les Paul i have that sounds like a machine for heavy rock. Fender and Strats are both familiar to your ears, while PRS is a sound you cant place. The familiarness makes a person like the sound. None of the Fender or Gibson guitars had any vintage pickups that included the 'signature' Gibson PAF sound or the Fender original single coil sound. Out of these i prefer the strat

The Gibson looks cool but I mainly use neck pickups and I don't like to have to check my tuning every few minutes

I only play Telecasters. I may switch from Fender if PRS would make a Tele with vintage noiseless single coil pickups.

Isn't the maple cap of the custom 24 SE non/flame just topped with veneer?

"Or was it Gibson for just giving us ... an American built guitar" 😂

My heart says Fender, my head says PRS but my ears say Gibson
