This is a labor of love easter egg. So many references that actually fit nicely into the Monkey Island lore. The maps, Captain Kate, the mentions of Guybrush and Elaine, and even their honeymoon really demonstrate that whoever made this DLC were massive fans of the series. Even the mention of "dolt" reminds me of "Tales of Monkey Island." What's even more incredible is that this is actually the second major easter egg of this series to grace video games in recent memory with the first being Uncharted 4. Monkey Island has really lived on in such an amazing way even after the last game was released.

With this easter egg, it's obvious Dinsey knows that Monkey Island exists and has a great following so hopefully this indicates that the series will continue (it's a leap but this easter egg has me feeling optimistic). In a perfect world, I would love for Ron Gilbert, Dave Grossman, and Tim Schafer to collaborate at least one more time to create the complete vision and ending Ron always had in mind. I would love for the series to continue beyond that, but that the very least, I would want to see Ron complete his story.

When they announced A Pirates Life my head went immediatley "WAIT, if they're collaborating with Disney, they COULD make Monkey Island content as well!"
I hadn't hoped for such an easter egg already, but damn it's making me grin widely!!
And I hope there will be a whole Monkey Island story update in the future as well. That would be amazing. Please, Rare, pleaaaase!

You can tell whoever did this was a big fan of MI2 specifically, although it was very pleasing to see not only the small map from that game, but also the full tri-island area map featuring all the islands from the first four games. Seeing how the fourth game is often overlooked it always gives me a fuzzy feeling to see "Lucre Island" and "Jambalaya - Knuttin" acknowledged.

I only heard about/started playing Monkey island a month ago then I returned to Sea of thieves, (since I was in the pirate game mood) after not playing since 2018, so finding this easter egg was really a pleasant but almost eerie coincidence.

I grew up really loving the Monkey Island games. Starting out with playing Sea of Thieves, I'd always wonder if they would ever reference the series or even include it as a possible expansion in the future. Can't believe I missed this!

i was so surprised when i firstly read that deep in the caribbean and suddenly the theme started to play.. i really hope theres a crossover cuz in that ship there is a card with monkey island, scabb island and plunder island. to play with guybrush threepwood would be awesome
