Great update thanks. It leaves me wondering why some commentators are critising the suit claiming its not an EVA suit. I'm wondering now whether is it due to the requirement of an umbilical and not just a tether?

I think we really should stop referring to "the dark side of the moon" as this is a bit of a misnomer (IMHO). A better term might be "the far side" as this would avoid the misinterpretation of "dark" as literal darkness instead of "not seen" as in dark matter/dark energy. It may have been a great name for an album (love me some Floyd) but not so much for the less science minded person.

I think most people look at the Space X space suit and think it looks too simple, but that is the point, the least amount of parts to get the job done. For 50 years NASA has spent billions of dollars on huge clunky suits that barely function. Along comes Space X and develops a simple, flexible suit for 200, 000, and only took them 2 years. Plus they will constantly iterate it and make it better. So in 2 more years they will have an absolute bad ass suit that is highly functional vs NASA taking 10 years to design and another 10 to iterate...
