Eventually ai, bots, dead internet theory, deepfakes, catfish, filters, identity theft, etc are going to ruin the trust/ trading online. Like it would be very hard to differentiate a real face from a fake face.

I have an elderly tenant who is leaving the states to meet and possibly marry a man from Nigeria. She has been speaking to him for a few years over the phone and via video chat. They are supposed to meet in Senegal. I tried talking her out of it but she won’t listen. I fear for her safety. He has asked her for money several times in the past. She only has one estranged son I never met and a 16 year old grandson out of state. Please pray for her safety!

It amazes me that there are still so many people who fall for this crap. I no longer feel bad for any of these ignorant people. Old people is one thing, but if you’re an adult and fall for this stuff to this day, you’re not the brightest tool in the shed 🤦‍♂️
