Lmfao he spent days in bed asking for "Peter Parker" just to speak to his enemy and accomplish nothing, he could've asked for Steve Rogers (who would certainly have gone both out of decency for a deathbed wish and curiosity) and then proven he was the real Spidey by recalling a bunch of shit they've done together, at which point Steve would round up the Fantastic Four, Avengers and Professor X to swap his mind back faster than you can say Assemble.

It's not like mind swap shenanigans are an unbelievable thing for Steve with all the weird shit he's been through.

Should've requested Professor X or some other telepathic hero to speak to, then told them he's Peter Parker and had them read his mind. The telepath (Professor X, Jean Grey, or what have you) would then let the others know, and now you got them on your side to help you.
