How to get to Bacalar, Mexico:
To get to Bacalar, Mexico, one of the most convenient ways is to fly into Cancun International Airport. From there, you can rent a car or take an ADO bus directly to Bacalar, which is approximately a 5-hour drive.

Yes, Bacalar is generally considered safe for tourists. As with any travel destination, it's essential to stay vigilant, take common-sense precautions, and stay informed about the local situation.
Are there alligators in Bacalar Lagoon?
Yes, technically there are alligators in Bacalar Lagoon although we never saw any. It is VERY important to only swim in the designated swimming spots and never swim in the waters where you can't see all the way to the bottom.
