I feel validated after hearing the but about not hanging out with certain friends - me and a friend go out every 2 weeks to run errands, but since starting a new job and focusing on paying debt, I've declined hanging out bc she peer pressures me into buying things. Like "you should buy it it's only $3 you deserve to feel good!" Or the other week she asked me to spend $17 on a movie ticket and I declined saying I hadn't budget for that. Her response "it's only $17, " made me feel kinda resentful. She's also been kinda clingy 😅 since I've been focused on working more I don't want to give up free time I could use on recharging, I'm very introverted. And I've explained to her my situation.

I agree that buying quality, even if it's secondhand, is much less expensive in the long run. I also repurpose glass jars. I use the Libby app to download books rather than buy them. It's very easy to add a TV subscription to watch a certain series and then keep it because there are other shows we want to watch. It's amazing that we got along without it. The bane of my existence is dropping things on the table! Actually, my din8ng room table has a train set on it "for Christmas, " it's been there for 2 years. Our kitchen/sunroom table is the larger table, but my husband dumps mail and anything else on it. I guess I've trained him not to put anything down on the kitchen counters, so he's using the table as the next best thing even though the desk is 10 steps away. Oh well, progress, not perfection.
