No. 102: delete shopping apps from your phone, use a computer, no. 103: never shop groceries with an empty stomach, no. 104: either shop at farmers markets as you just go for the essentials, supermarkets tempt you to buy more useless things, or pre-order your groceries online as delivery or to collect.

I'm the queen of reusing gift bags. My kids know that anytime a gift bag is given they are to refold it and hand it back to me 😃. I have Xmas bags that are several years old. My daughter in law recently had a baby shower and there were many many bags. I kept a couple and donated the rest to a thrift store where they sell for .50, a win for everyone.

Regarding the sock tip - in the winter I wear black socks, in the summer I wear white. I buy the same kind all the time. I put them in the drawer loose. Even if I get a hole in one, it doesn't matter. There is always a match.

Socks: Use safety pins to pair your socks before washing. I've been doing this for over 40 years.

If you don't recycle the cereal thick plastic bags, use them to freeze meat. I freeze chicken breasts and when thawed I use the same bag to pund the meat for thin steaks.

Oh! And another one: you can wash your clothes less often. If they're not stained, you can just hang them outside for few hours and wear them again. Also if you put your clothes in the freezer, cold kills all the bacteria and the smell, so they're fresh again, no need to spend money on washing them that often

I liked the tip on not buying big houses with a lot of storage space etc... aslo, when we think long and hard how much space we really really need, we don't need much space to live. We buy big houses, but occupy only a small percentage of the space within them. We tend to just use the bed, maybe a couch, favorite chair and small space in the kitchen and bathroom. And sure, we may like big empty rooms with a "lot of light "etc.. but we basically buy the space the outdoors has to offer. Those who move into smaller spaces, tend to leave their houses more and spend more time outdoors on 'adventures.'

I do most of these already. Not flushing the toilet; we will agree to disagree! Lol Most of my family does this and it grosses me out to let pee just sit in the toilet. 🤪
May Jesus continue to bless you and your family

Love all 101 tips! I went to my local thrift store yesterday to drop off some donations and decided to look around inside. I found a pair of lamps ($7.50 each with lampshades!) like I had been looking for a our guest room! I bought them! Those same lamps, new, are $20-25 in the stores and don’t have the shades!

My local grocer offers a 5% discount on total order to senior citizens on Tuesdays and Thursdays. So guess what my grocery shopping days are !😃

Oh wow! Zipping up clothes before they go in the washing machine is new to me, and explains why so many of my shirts seem to have grown holes while in the wash! I'm a big wearer of jeans!

We do Lupper -between 2 and 4. Sometimes the same portion as evening will be priced lower. Or, the portion will be smaller and priced much lower. Also, when you order food at a restaurant, request that half be put into a to go box when it arrives. That way you have another meal or two and you won't have to unbutton your pants when you get home. Unless of course you are wearing leggings - or, as I call them, "buffet pants!"

Great tips! I often drink a glass of water when I feel hungry. But I don't like to have a glass before dinner because it actually dilutes your digestive enzymes

Pharmacist here - plz get all your Rx at the same pharmacy... safety over cost. Also if you have a flat $10 copay for example, it will likely be the same anyway.

Check 1. you water meter every month to detect small leaks. 2. Run you dishwasher and washing machine while you are in the house. This way you can catch any leak before it gets out of hand. 3. If you have solar panels but no battery storage, run your appliances when the Sun is out. 5. Don’t leave your house until you are sure the toilet you just flushed is not leaking 6. Always empty you bladder before traveling in your car as the seat belt can cause a full bladder to burst.

I really enjoyed this video, thank you! So practical and helpful. Plus many of these are not too difficult for the average person to do. This is a vote to please consider more of these types of videos! I made it to the end and felt like it was an old friend I was watching share the tips. My one extra tip is to shop the very backs and sides/ aisles of stores near break rooms/restrooms, etc.... (think Safeway, Target, etc) for great clearance buys. I've gotten some amazing deals on food, toiletries, sunscreen, books, toddler items, etc. at Safeway like this. Too bad we do not have Aldi in Silicon Valley but another one we do have here that I love Is Grocery Outlet! They even have nice organic finds near me.
