Definitely makes sense. I waited for marriage before giving myself away. Longevity in my marriage is there (25 years). I'm 51.

I remember when I was young I thought that premarital sex made sense. If you fell in love, I thought, you should be able to make love with the person. Then over my lifetime I watched as that went from having sex with people you weren’t committed to and then didn’t even love. I saw people actually recoil at the idea of someone they had sex with falling in love with them. Or “catching feelings”. I saw people turn sex into something mechanistic and crude yet be completely obsessed with it. I saw ppl of both sexes grow to h8 the other but always being just moments away from referencing sex with them.

God knows what He was doing.

Amen God bless you Father. It’s not something to be played with. Sadly sexual immoral relationships have become the norm in todays world, even for some who claim to be christians.

I’m living out this pain. As a man, seeking a wife and always connecting sex with love, I can not convey into words the emotional pain I am suffering navigating the dating scene today. I’m 41 and struggling to find a good woman who shares at least this one value, let alone a woman who is Christian.

Nowadays it just seems impossible to find anyone willing to go through with this. Then again I haven't entered the Orthodox church yet. Planning to do it soon.
