This is the most comprehensive 2024 guide of the Topkapi Palace, with information on ticket prices, opening hours and the various exhibits that you can visit. I take you through the Harem, the Holy Islamic Relics rooms, the Gardens of the Lions, the Armour room, the Palace Kitchens, the Hagia Irene and also the Ottoman Sultans' Treasury room.

Topkapi Palace is one of Istanbul's most magnificent landmarks, a testament to the grandeur and power of the Ottoman Empire. Constructed in the 15th century by Sultan Mehmed the Conqueror, it served as the primary residence and administrative headquarters for the Ottoman sultans for nearly 400 years. Set on a promontory overlooking the Bosphorus, Golden Horn, and the Sea of Marmara, the palace offers breathtaking views as well as a rich journey into Ottoman history.

Another highlight of Topkapi Palace is its collection of Holy Sacred Relics, which includes some of the most revered objects in Islamic history. These relics are housed in the Chamber of the Holy Mantle and include items such as the Prophet Muhammad's صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ cloak, his sword, and other significant Islamic artifacts. The serene atmosphere in this section of the palace is a powerful experience for visitors, especially those with a deep connection to Islamic heritage.

Located within the palace grounds is the Hagia Irene, a Byzantine church that predates the palace. Originally built in the 4th century, it is one of the few churches in Istanbul that was never converted into a mosque. Hagia Irene is now used for exhibitions, offering a unique contrast to the predominantly Islamic architecture of Topkapi.

How to Visit
Topkapi Palace is open daily (except Mondays), but the Harem requires an additional ticket. It's advisable to visit early to avoid long lines and to fully explore the extensive grounds. Don’t miss the Imperial Treasury, filled with Ottoman treasures, including the famous Topkapi Dagger and the 86-carat Spoonmaker’s Diamond.

The Topkapi Palace was the main residence of some of the most powerful Sultans of the Ottoman Empire, including Fatih Sultan Mehmet the Conqueror (of Constantinople), Sultan Selim II, and Sultan Suleyman the Magnificent (as seen in the popular Magnificent Century).

Amazing, I went there in May and the Palace was brilliant. The kitchens and Harem were my favourite.
The Prophet (Peace Be Upon Him) items made it a very special experience.
After visiting the Palace we went to the nearby Gulhane Park where we saw the Gulhane Cistern which was free of charge.

That would take all day, at the very least. I'm glad they have eating establishment to sustain visitors in their visit. I've worked in museums and libraries and would catch people trying to live in them. I certainly understand why they would, especially in a place like Topkapi, or even Dolmebahce.

What an elegant vlog Don uncle I really enjoyed it aloottt ❤❤❤❤

It's an impressive example of Ottoman architecture and one of the key attractions in Istanbul. It served as the residence of Ottoman sultans for nearly 400 years, functioning as both an administrative and educational center of the Ottoman Empire.🥳🥳🩵🩵🩵🩵🫰🏻🫰🏻🫰🏻
