Theme Of The Abandoned | Fundy's Theme | based on the events that took place in the Dream SMP

I love @Fundy. At first, I didn’t understand his character in the Dream SMP, but I found myself breaking down while writing this song. He was the First Son of L’Manberg, which turned out to be more of a nuisance than a privilege. You know his relationship with Wilbur, who tried to make up for a lost time as a ghost. You also know his relationship with Eret, who was oblivious of Fundy’s adoption.

Now that the nation he grew up in was annihilated, he has almost nothing to go to.

I grew up in a family whose parents maintain a high profile in my community. Contrary to the song, they showered me with love and attention. There are other children, though, with the same family background, who are like Fundy — left behind in favor of responsibility. If that is you, here’s a hug. We all deserve better days.

I love how Fundy's reminiscing throughout the song, coming to accept what has happened. Just like anyone else, he was stripped of what he cared of most by war. He sees Wilbur building up his nation and standing by his right-hand man, and... Well, you can't say that this is wrong, can you? So many people NEED L'Manburg, and by proxy need Wilbur. There is so much responsibility Wilbur has to bare, and he seems to take it in stride as he cares for his comrades during war.

But there's still this aching feeling of loss, because he cares so damn much about everything. Perhaps even more than his own son; certainly seems so through his actions. But admitting that feeling, admitting that you desperately need care in such a high-stress situation, can feel childish. And Fundy doesn't want to be treated like a child; he wants to prove he is just as important as anyone else, and not because of his relationship with Wilbur.

So he forces himself to accept it. To put on a mature front, accepting what has happened and attempting to move on.

The line he’s too busy helping anyone else but me after fundys line of trying to go back to Wilbur only to find he’s gone shows how fundy held regret and wanted to go back to Wilbur and apologize for siding with schlatt and explain himself but Wilbur had already died turning into ghostbur who treated him no differently then anyone else which really increases the air of regret for wanting Wilbur to back off and now wanting Wilbur back

Yes!! Another Fundy song I can cry and relate heavily too! He's really my favourite character, full of things to work with for musicians and animators because of his backstory. I really wanted more people to do something with his character, I have actually went on a hunt for Fundy songs and animatics. Fundy as a character is so amazingly underrated, and I really don't get why, he's just the most relatable. Also, write it down in history that he's the first to actually take a break to heal mentally, as when he left for a year only to come back to the bloodvines.

I am sorry for my rant, I just like his character a lot and I hope he gets the spotlight soon in Season 3.

Jewel, your song just summarised all his sadness and made me cry again, it is really beautiful. Also, hope you get into his LoH next time there's one. I am so sad I didn't catch the premiere but I'm now going to listen to your songs on loop. <3

I can't wait! Fundy is such an underated character and people often look past how good of an actor he is.
I'm really exited because not many people have done Fundy themes but those who have made them do an amazing job on them, so i have a lot of faith in this song!

poor Fundy. Ive never really seen his lore, so at first, I didn't understand it, but looking back, Fundy has a pretty sad backstory

dude, the echo gives me literal chills, and in the context of the smp, could you imagine fundy singing this while walking through the ravine, then in twitch prime church? imagine if there was an organ there like other churches and he just plays the tune. Imagine ghostbur strumming his acoustic. it's been compared before, but imagine that marceline x ice king scene and even as fundy sings the lyrics, and ghostbur just doesn't connect the dots, just thinks the song is sad. Imagine the tune was like a lullaby alivebur used to strum to fundy as a kid. imagine ghostbur regaining his memories and strumming the tune again as, off into some faraway place, fundy's making his new start with people who would actually treat him better.
